Julia Müller is an alumna of local international and the founder and designer of Annamariaangelika, a slow fashion label specializing in knitwear. With her Peruvian team, Julia Müller creates timeless garments that seamlessly combine local craftsmanship with expressive design ideas. Not only does the label celebrate the craft of knitting, but also all the people involved in the process.

Eugenie Schmidt is a designer, co-founder and managing director at Schmidttakahashi. She is an alumna at the weißensee school of art berlin. Her company has developed a system that introduces garments into a new life cycle. All donated garments are archived, equipped with an ID and can be tracked via a database. In the next step, the old textiles are combined into newly designed, sophisticated garments.

Hanna Charlotte Erhorn is the co-founder and creative director of german fair fashion label Bridge&Tunnel, with sustainable and socially responsible production facilities in the centre of Hamburg/Germany. Her jeans label upcycles old textiles and excess material. Bridge&Tunnel also pursues a social agenda – they create jobs for socially disadvantaged people and support their multinational sewing team when dealing with authorities or legal issues and do not ask for a formal certificate of craftsmanship before hiring.

Natascha von Hirschhausen is a graduate of the weißensee Academy of Art Berlin as well as one of the first participants of local international. She is a womenswear designer based in Berlin and has carved a niche with her eponymous label. She creates timeless designs using zero waste patterns and sustainable materials, which she produces exclusively to high social and ecological standards.

Grüne Erde in Austria is one of the pioneers of the production of and trade in ecological, sustainable and socially fair products.

Diane Maren Jende is the owner of Posamenten Manufaktur Jende, a trimmings manufactury based in the Lausitz region. Passed down through generations, the company produces extraordinary and luxurious trimmings – a special niche which shows that quality and craftsmanship, if properly communicated, can work for centuries.

Rita in Palma are a company that represents local craftsmanship. The accessory and jewelry label cooperates with local women with migrant backgrounds who have outstanding crochet skills and produce intricately detailed pieces. This does not only lead to better societal integration for the women, but also provides future job opportunities and raises self-esteem.

Algae colour by blond + bieber: Rasa Weber and Essi Glomb are both alumni of weißensee Academy of Art Berlin. As a design studio for sustainable design strategies, Blond + Bieber bring a different perspective; the two founders position themselves with alternative concepts and specialize in natural dyes derived from algae.

As pioneers of a sustainable, ecological and social philosophy of life, the founders of Grüne Erde have created a company to produce healthy products for people and the environment, with great design as an added bonus. Their success speaks for itself. Christina Seiler kindly took the participants on a virtual tour through the concept store and explained the design and product philosophy of this thoroughly sustainable and ethical company.
